Covid Guidance and Information
Entry to the home at this time is facilitated on an individual basis. The priority is to ensure the safety and welfare of, not only those in the home, but also for those coming into the home.
Individual discussions maybe necessary for the management team to ensure safe entry.
All residents are encouraged and supported, (with their agreement) to undertake Covid-19 tests in line with current Government regulations.
During Covid restrictions we created varied opportunities for visits and we are adaptable for seasonal weather as well. All visits are tailored to suit the individuals needs as each person responds in different ways, therefore we have created a range of visiting opportunities to ensure flexibility and comfort for all concerned.
LFT tests may be required as restrictions may vary at times and should be reported prior to your visit if necessary.
Essential Caregivers:
We wholeheartedly support the role of Essential Caregivers in the home as we understand the importance of loved ones maintaining close contact with each other.
Essential Caregivers need to undertake the same testing regime as the care staff in the home and they may need to wear appropriate PPE during the visits in line with all the current Government guidelines unless the visit is at a window.
Please follow the links below for further information and guidance.
Entry To The Home
All visitors to the home are asked to check the latest guidance given by the Government for Covid symptoms before coming to the home to aid stopping the spread of Covid.
All visitors are asked to stay away if they have symptoms of Covid. All visitors will be asked to wash their hands at the front door of the home and to sign the visitors log book. There is a hands free (thigh operated) sink in the front porch of the home. Visitors coming into the home may be asked to complete the homes own information sheet or the visitors log book. Any visitors coming into the home may be required to wear PPE in line with current Government recommendations, which will be provided by the home upon arrival. |
Relatives are allowed to visit the home under the current guidelines given by the Government. As the visiting restrictions are amended the home will adapt accordingly.
Some visits were able to be facilitated in the Tuk Tuk with the rain covers creating a barrier during the summer periods at the peak of Covid either at relatives homes or at an agreed meeting point. Garden visits in 2020 were also enabled in the summer by creating an outdoor bar which allowed relatives to sit behind the bar and chat to their loved ones in a relaxed environment. Below is listed the correct sequence for putting on PPE if needed when you are coming into the home. First of all please ensure you have washed your hands at the front sink. Thank you in advance for your understanding and patience. |
How we created safe spaces to socialise
While Covid has caused many disruptions, it has not stopped innovations in the home. We have since created outdoor gazebos with overhead heaters and fan heater (if needed) and intercom phones at the windows making it easier to converse with each other, a caravan has been put in situ as a visitors pod and an outdoor visiting area is visible from the car park in the home.
In June 2021 the home created a small area off the main car park to enable outdoor visits without impinging on the main garden as the residents enjoy using their garden frequently during good weather.
